Frequently asked questions
How does the meal plan generation work?
KitchenCircle generates a weekly meal plan by matching recipes in your library against the combined preference ratings of your family members. Recipes that are rated highly by most family members appear more often; those with low ratings or no ratings yet are shuffled in less frequently. The more you rate, the more accurate the suggestions become.
Can I change a single day in the plan without regenerating everything?
Yes. Long-press on any day in the weekly plan to replace just that meal. The rest of the plan stays as-is.
Can I add the same recipe multiple times in a week?
Not automatically — the planner avoids repeating recipes in the same week. But you can manually swap a day to a recipe that's already elsewhere in the plan if you want.
A family member is away for a while. Do their ratings still count?
You can mark a family member as absent, and the planner will exclude their ratings when generating plans during that period. This is useful for kids away at camp, a partner travelling for work, and so on.
Where is my data stored?
Everything is stored locally on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, and no cloud sync (beyond standard iCloud Backup if you have that enabled in your device settings). See the Privacy Policy for details.
I accidentally deleted a recipe. Can I recover it?
Unfortunately not — deleted recipes are removed immediately and cannot be restored from within the app. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, you may be able to restore from a recent device backup, though this would roll back all app data to that point in time.
